We’re celebrating 75 years of the NHS in south east London

As the NHS turns 75 years old, this video takes us through some of the moments to celebrate from our history – and future – in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich, the six boroughs that form South East London’s Integrated Care System.

NHS South East London Integrated Care Board has sought to capture on film and in words just a little of the work of the health service and its impact locally since 1948.

The eight minute video traces the development of the NHS in our six boroughs. It also hopefully portrays the commitment of the hundreds of thousands of staff who have worked here over the decades.

It is a very different service today, but it is striking how some of the challenges and ambitions feel familiar.
