Get involved in shaping health and care in Lambeth

Patient and Public Voice Members support us to make better decisions about health and care services. Their connections within our communities make sure we hear about and act on significant issues for local residents.

People who live in Lambeth or who regularly use health and care services in Lambeth can apply. If this is you, and you’re interested in health and care and you have active local networks, the Board wants to hear from you. The application deadline is 24 July.

What is Lambeth Together?

Lambeth Together is a partnership of the NHS, local authority, the voluntary sector and others, focused on improving health and wellbeing in Lambeth and on reducing unfair and avoidable differences in health between different groups of people. We are part of the South East London Integrated Care System, a new way of working to join up health and care for better services and better outcomes for people.

What does the Board do?

Our leadership team, the Lambeth Together Care Partnership Board, meets regularly throughout the year to discuss and reach decisions about priorities and plans for health and care in Lambeth, and to monitor progress. Lambeth Together is looking for two voluntary Patient and Public Voice Members, to join the Board as full voting members. Applications are welcome from all sections of the community. Lambeth Together is especially keen to attract younger adults, disabled people, people from LGBTQ+ communities and people from Black and multi ethnic communities to these roles, to help the Board in its ambition to reflect Lambeth communities.

What will the Patient and Public Voice Member role involve?

You’ll attend monthly Lambeth Together Care Partnership Board meetings to discuss and reach decisions about priorities and plans for health and care in Lambeth, and to monitor progress. You’ll need to maintain your networks and channels for staying in touch with community interests and experience within Lambeth. Potentially, you could also be involved in specific areas of work, such as community sessions or our Public Forum. We anticipate Public Voice Members will need to be available for around 10 to 12 hours per month to fulfil essential responsibilities, with the possibility of more time for development and support.  This role is voluntary (unpaid) but provides opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge, build links and to be part of strategic decision-making at Board and borough level over a two-year term. The Board operates a buddy system and is available to new joiners.
