Long acting reversible contraception hub opens at Raleigh Gardens in Brixton

From Monday 3 February 2025, Lambeth’s Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Hub Service will be located at Raleigh Gardens (Brixton Hill). The service will be delivered by MSI Reproductive Choices and will replace the service provided at the Akerman Health Centre.

In 2023, we asked residents how we can improve contraception services in Lambeth. They said they wanted more appointments close to home, and appointments available outside of traditional clinic and working hours.

The new hub service will mean more appointments for residents seeking to have a coil or implant fitted, removed or replaced, at times convenient to them. Additionally, people can speak to a trained professional, receive guidance on their contraceptive options before booking an appointment and understand how to prepare for their appointment.

Coil appointments are also now available for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) treatment and for non-contraceptive reasons at the Hub.

What is LARC?

LARC stands for Long-Acting Reversible Contraception and includes methods such as contraceptive implants and coils.
