Carer’s Rights Day – find out about support, health and wellbeing in Lambeth

Carer’s Hub Lambeth is marking Carer’s Rights Day on Thursday, 21 November, with a special evening event dedicated to supporting and celebrating local carers. This event is designed to provide both practical support and an opportunity for carers to connect with others in a friendly and supportive environment. Come along to discover resources, learn about your rights, and take a moment for yourself. A nurse will also be available to give you a free seasonal flu vaccine.

Carers Rights Day 2024

Who’s it for?

This event is open to all carers, whether you’re already registered with Carer’s Hub Lambeth or not.

Many people don’t realise they’re carers. If you regularly support a family member, friend, or neighbour who couldn’t manage without your help—due to age, disability, illness, or other challenges—you are a carer. Carers come in many forms, from those providing full-time care to those helping part-time with daily activities, errands, or emotional support. If this sounds like you, we encourage you to come along, meet other carers, and discover the support and resources available to you.

Location: Mosaic Clubhouse, 65, Effra Road, SW2 1BZ
Date: Thursday, 21 November
Time: 5 to 8pm

Your right to a free flu vaccine

If you’re a carer you’re eligible for a free flu vaccine to protect both yourself and the vulnerable person you care for. Many people who receive care have weakened immune systems or chronic health conditions, making them at higher risk of serious complications if they catch it. It’s also recognised that as a carer you’re often indispensable to the people you care for, so having protection reduces the risk of disruption to caring for your loved one.

If you miss this opportunity, find out more ways to get your free NHS flu vaccine.

Your right to a carers assessment

A carer’s assessment is a conversation to establish the impact caring is having on an individual. Anyone who provides care can have a carer’s assessment, which can take place by video call, phone or face-to-face, depending on your preference. A carers assessment may support you to access practical or financial help, or support with your health and wellbeing. Find out more:
