Sue Gallagher

Lambeth Together Care Partnership Board Lay Member

Sue’s role is to represent the interests of the public in expecting good governance, public accountability, value for money and the achievement of goals and objectives. She seeks to understand the inequalities and diverse circumstances of people in Lambeth so that she can challenge on behalf of the least privileged.

Sue is a leadership coach in the public and charitable sector and an Independent Chair for NHS London Primary Care Directorate. She’s a trustee of a social enterprise called Breathe which uses magic, dance and music to help people.

After university as a volunteer in India, she helped develop a social services degree course.  She then joined a community development organisation working in Brixton, Harlesden, Belfast and Derry/Londonderry.

She’s worked for 27 years in NHS management followed with 15 years as a chief executive, the last 5 as Chief Executive of Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth Health Authority.

Since 2003, Sue has been an Independent Accredited Coach and Consultant. She has lived in Lambeth or Southwark since 1994.

Board non-executive roles include 12 years for a housing association, 11 in the NHS and nine as a Trustee of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity.
