Councillor Lucy Caldicott was elected to represent Stockwell Ward in Lambeth in May 2018. She chaired the Children’s Scrutiny Sub Committee from 2019 to 2021, where a key focus was on the council’s support to young people during the pandemic calling for access to digital access to support remote learning and enabling families to engage with support services such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
In June 2021 she was appointed Joint Cabinet Lead for Health and Adult Social Care and to represent Lambeth Council as a Governor of the South London and Maudsley Hospital. She has a particular focus on social care, sexual health, and mental health, with a relentless focus on ensuring focus is maintained on increasing equitable outcomes. She is also supporting the expansion of neighbourhood wellbeing model, which she championed in Stockwell.
Councillor Caldicott began her career in the voluntary sector, working in a range of causes, including young people’s health, international development, and was formerly Chief Executive of youth development charity, UpRising. Originally from the Midlands, she stood as Labour’s candidate for Dudley South in the 2019 General Election.
