Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance Progress Report 2023-24

Closing remarks

This year, we’ve had many opportunities to share good practice within our pioneering Living Well Network Alliance with colleagues nationwide.  I’m grateful to work alongside our innovative, and collaborative workforce who put delivering positive outcomes for our residents at the heart of everything they do.

There has been high demand on our crisis pathways, and our focus has been on further developing the Single Point of Access to ensure our residents get the right care and treatment, at the right place and on time, so they can stay well in the community.  We established our Primary Care Alliance Network which provides more mental health support, together with GPs. This is an important collaboration, helping residents to stay well through preventative measures in their own neighbourhoods.

We’re working together across health, social care, and the voluntary sector, to deliver on the first national antiracism framework for mental health, the Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF).  There is already enthusiasm and engagement around the key priority to reduce health inequity by ethnicity for Lambeth residents, and we are proud of the partnership working we have in place with Black Thrive and other community led organisations.

We’re building on our award winning CAPSA (Culturally Appropriate Peer Support and Advocacy) service to tackle inequalities, highlighting the current position and implementing change ideas. There is clear opportunity for co-production with our communities to improve access, experience, and outcomes for racialised and marginalised groups.

We are delighted to congratulate Dr Nozomi Akanuma who is staying on for a second term as our Clinical and Care Professional Lead.  Her insights and support add tremendous value for our residents, and we look forward to continuing to work together.

As an Alliance, we are committed to demonstrating improvements in the care and treatment we provide, there is always room to learn and grow together. The extension to our contract means we will continue to face the challenges that come our way together, as a resilient partnership.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to all Living Well Network Alliance staff for their commitment, values-driven teamwork, and determination to realise our vision to help Lambeth residents recover and stay well, live a life of their choosing and participate on an equal footing.  I’m immensely privileged to be back in Lambeth and leading such an amazing team.
