  1. London’s newest blood donor centre has opened in the heart of Brixton, encouraging more south east London donors, especially from Black African and Caribbean backgrounds, to come forward.

    Developed by NHS Blood and Transplant in collaboration with community leaders, local businesses and residents, and located on the main shopping artery, Brixton’s first-ever permanent blood donor centre has been designed to welcome the local community and make donating as easy as possible.

  2. The NHS Blood and Transplant Service are excited to invite you to a special event in Brixton on Sunday 26 January.

    This vibrant day will celebrate Black culture through music, food, art, and inspiring guest speakers, while shining a light on the importance of blood donation and raising awareness of Sickle Cell—a blood disorder that primarily affects individuals of African and Caribbean heritage.

  3. The Chronic Pain PEACS (Pain, Education, Advice, and Community Support) Project has been highly commended at the HSJ Awards 2024, a prestigious national healthcare accolade. The project, a collaboration between Mind & Body (King’s Health Partners), Stockwellbeing PCN, Thriving Stockwell, and local patients, was recognised for its pioneering work in tackling healthcare inequalities.

  4. The Evelina London Patch Children’s Community Nursing (CCN) team has triumphed at the HSJ Awards 2024, winning the coveted Reducing Inequalities and Improving Outcomes for Children and Young People Award.

    The HSJ Awards celebrate outstanding achievements across the UK healthcare system, and this year’s recognition shines a spotlight on the innovative work of the Patch CCN team in Lambeth and Southwark.
